Certified Flight Instructor Schools FloridaTeaching others to fly is rewarding, allowing you to use and perfect all of the skills you’ve learned during your training. Many professional pilots begin their careers as flight instructors because it allows for the accumulation of flight time and skill perfection while making a living.

Motivation to Become a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)

Pilots earn their flight instructor credentials for various reasons. Still, the most commonly cited ones involve improving their skills and accumulating the flight hours needed to apply for airline pilot positions. Airline positions require an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification and 1,500 hours in the sky. Working as a flight instructor allows pilots to gain these hours faster while making a living as a pilot.

Any teacher can tell you that the most effective way to learn is to do. As you share your flight skills with others, you will consistently reinforce and practice the knowledge and skill base you have as a pilot. The satisfaction that comes from sharing what you love shouldn’t go unnoticed, either.

Time Table for Becoming a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)

Before earning a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) license, pilots must have a Commercial Pilot License, Single-Engine or Multi-Engine (CSEL or CMEL). No specific schedule exists for following up with flight instructor training. However, pilots who participate in the P3 program at Paragon Flight complete this leg of training in eight weeks, for example. Paragon Flight custom designs programs to meet the needs of our student pilots, so contact the Chief Flight Instructor to make plans.

Different Categories of Flight Instructor Credentials

Flight instructors need different credentials, depending on the type of training they provide. A Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) offers single-engine aircraft training; a Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII) provides instrument flight skills; and a Certified Flight Instructor – Multi-Engine (MEI) provides pilots with the skills to operate multi-engine aircraft.

The P3 Program at Paragon Flight allows student pilots with zero experience to become Certified Flight Instructors (CFIs) in 38 weeks. This program fast-tracks the process so that ambitious pilots can begin their journey as efficiently and affordably as possible.
