The P3 Professional Pilot Program takes 38 short weeks for pilots to become commercially licensed with their flight instructor certification to boot. This role is ideal for many commercial pilots who need to accumulate more time in the air to qualify for future endeavors. Airline pilots, for instance, need to gain their Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification along with 1,500 flight hours.
Broken into four phases, the P3 program requires diligence, full-time availability, and hard work! During the first ten-week long phase, students establish a foundation for all future training and earn their Private Pilot Licenses (PPL).
The second phase is eight weeks long and teaches these pilots how to use navigation and communication tech. Having an Instrument Flight Rating (IFR) is essential for working as a professional pilot.
Next, the program prepares pilots to work professionally, flying both single-engine and multi-engine aircraft as Commercial Pilots (CSEL & CMEL). This training is rigorous, preparing pilots for the responsibility of hauling cargo or flying passengers while also preparing them to react appropriately for all potential situations. This third phase requires twelve weeks.
The final phase of the P3 Program is eight weeks and prepares newly minted commercial pilots how to teach others to fly. When working as a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), pilots are able to make a living, stack on logged flight hours, and share what they love.
