The Difference of the P3 Program

The P3 Program differs from other training programs in that it prioritizes the quality of training rather than quantity, the development of professional leadership skills, and the aid of students to secure financial resources to afford training.

The P3 Schedule

• WEEKS 0-10 – Private Pilot License (PPL) – the foundation for all future training, the most crucial step of the program;
• WEEKS 11-18 – Instrument Flight Rating (IFR) – prepares pilots to fly using navigation and communication systems to fly in instrument conditions;
• WEEKS 19-30 – Commercial License, Single Engine and Multi-Engine (CSEL/CMEL) – prepares pilots to fly professionally in either a single or multi-engine aircraft;
• WEEKS 31-38 – Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) – prepares commercial pilots to share their skills with novice pilots.

By the end of the program, pilots will have their commercial licenses and certification to work as Certified Flight Instructors (CFI). Working as a flight instructor is an excellent option for those entering the profession. It allows pilots to continue to accrue flight hours. Applying with an airline requires at least 1,500 hours of flight time, so making a living while accruing these hours is an asset.

Accomplishing this much within 38 weeks requires dedication and effort. To ensure participants are up to the challenge before they begin, we have fairly stringent prerequisites, although some exceptions are possible.

P3 Prerequisites:

• At least 18 years old
• High school graduate or GED recipient (college preferred)
• Character references – one personal, one professional
• Clean MVR, FAA record, criminal background check
• Passed cognitive and behavioral assessment
• FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English well
• Available on a full-time basis to participate in 4-5 flight lessons and 10-20 hours of ground training weekly
• Characteristics of integrity, drive, and work ethic.
