Best Flight Schools for Commercial Pilot Training

If your goal is to earn a living in the sky, choosing the right flight school is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. Paragon Flight stands out among the best flight schools for commercial pilot training, offering the ideal combination of FAA authorization, flexible program design, expert instruction, and year-round flying conditions.

Best Flight Schools for Commercial Pilot Training

What sets Paragon Flight apart is where we train and how we train. With three premier locations, Paragon Flight gives students flexibility and access:

  • Fort Myers, FL (Page Field – FMY) – our flagship campus
  • Punta Gorda, FL (Punta Gorda Airport – PGD)
  • LaGrange, GA (LaGrange-Callaway Airport – LGC)

Each site offers modern facilities, tower-controlled runways, and over 300 days of favorable flying weather per year, making it easy to stay on schedule and get hands-on experience.

We are FAA-authorized under both Part 141 and Part 61, allowing us to offer structured, full-time training programs and flexible, self-paced instruction tailored to your goals, schedule, and budget. Our programs are designed to support a wide range of students, from international applicants and veterans using GI Bill® benefits to career-focused trainees and recreational flyers.

Whether balancing flying with a full-time job or looking for an accelerated route to a commercial license, we can create a program that fits your goals, timeline, and budget.

The Paragon Flight Process

  1. Prescreening and Applicant Selection
Your journey begins with a one-on-one conversation and a personalized assessment. We’ll take the time to understand your goals, current experience level, and readiness for commercial pilot training to ensure you’re set up for success.
  2. Program Planning and Budget Overview
Once we determine your ideal training path, we’ll provide a detailed program outline, including coursework, timelines, and costs. Everything is laid out clearly so you can make an informed decision.
  3. Enrollment and Orientation
After enrollment, you’ll be introduced to our Student Ambassador Team during a personalized onboarding session. This meeting helps you get familiar with the school, our staff, and what to expect throughout your training.
  4. Training and Certification

While individual timelines may vary, most Paragon Flight students complete their training within 7 to 11 months. During that time, you’ll work toward earning the following certifications:

  • Private Pilot License (PPL)
  • Instrument Flight Rating (IFR)
  • Commercial Pilot License – Single Engine (CSEL)
  • Commercial Pilot License – Multi-Engine (CMEL)
  • Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) – optional
  • Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFI-I) – optional
