Paragon Flight is a dually authorized flight school under Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Parts 141 and 61. This two-fold authority lets us provide full-time, FAA-authorized, strictly defined curriculum-driven programs under Part 141 and looser, one-on-one, self-paced programs under Part 61. The P3 Professional Pilot Program at Paragon Flight

The P3 Program relies on three foundational measures: the focus on quality training over quantity of training, assistance in securing financing, and development of essential professional qualities.

We streamline the training program, creating four stages of instruction, each culminating in acquiring different credentials.

FIRST PHASE (0-10 weeks) – Private Pilot License (PPL)

  • Foundational for training
  • Development of good habits and best practices
  • The most crucial phase in the program

SECOND PHASE (11-18 weeks) – Instrument Flight Rating (IFR)

  • Focuses on learning to fly using communication and navigation systems and tools
  • Critical skill development for commercial pilots
  • Preparation to fly in IFR conditions when visual flight isn’t possible and instruments must be used

THIRD PHASE (19-30 weeks) – Commercial License, Single Engine and Multi-Engine (CSEL/CMEL)

  • Required for flight in exchange for compensation
  • Preparation to fly at a degree of mastery expected of professional pilots

FOURTH PHASE (31-38 weeks) – Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)

  • Final step in the P3 Program
  • Provides an entry-level point into the aviation sector, allowing commercial pilots to accumulate the 1,500 flight hours needed to work for an airline while gaining experience, sharing their passion, and earning a wage.

P3 Program Qualifications

  • AGE – 18 years of age, minimum
  • EDUCATION – high school graduate or GED recipient, college experience preferred
  • REFERENCES – one personal plus one professional
  • MOTOR VEHICLE RECORD (MVR) – clear
  • CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK – clear
  • BEHAVIORAL/COGNITIVE EVALUATION – passed
  • FAA RECORD – clear without incidents, accidents, or enforcement actions
  • FAA MEDICAL CERTIFICATE – First-Class
  • LANGUAGE – fluent and literate in English
  • AVAILABILITY – full-time (able to participate in 4-5 flight lessons per week plus 10-20 hours/week of ground training)
  • CHARACTER TRAITS – strong work ethic, drive, and integrity
