How Can I Become A Commercial Pilot In The USA?

In the USA, the FAA controls how you, I, or anyone else can become a commercial pilot. Mandated Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) issued in Parts 141 and 61 authorize flight schools to offer full-time training with a prescribed syllabus or one-on-one flexible training, respectively. Paragon Flight provides options for our students, along with a full range of flight instruction, including the P3 Professional Pilot Program for students interested in the accelerated acquisition of certifications.

How Can I Become A Commercial Pilot In The USA?Paragon Flight has three locations: two in Florida and one in Georgia. Each flight school location has every feature needed for excellent training and experiences, no matter the level of training sought.

The weather at each of our locations makes flight training possible all year long. In Florida, the weather is flight-friendly 350+ days of the year, and over 300 days of the year are great for takeoff and landing at our Georgia location. When flight training is uninterrupted by weather delays, completion is faster and more affordable.

At Paragon Flight, the fleet of aircraft is comprehensively Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA); our instructors are highly skilled with a variety of past experiences; and the Jeppesen curriculum is a world-class program developed by giants in the aviation industry.

The fleet of aircraft we supply for training is well-kept and fully compliant with all requirements for qualifying as Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA). Single-engine training takes place in the Piper PA28 “Pilot,” and multi-engine training relies on the PA-44 Seminole—both standards for flight training. We also supply the Cirrus SR20 for high-performance endorsements, transition/differences training, primary specialty training, and aircraft rentals.

Students can also use the ALSIM AL172 Flight Simulator, an excellent piece of equipment for simulated practice with various systems and environments, to save time and money.

The P3 Professional Pilot Program

The Professional Pilot Program (P3) developed and offered by Paragon Flight promotes the fulfillment of pilot credentials faster and more affordably than typical courses allow. The program involves 38 weeks of training and is broken down into four stages:

  • Private Pilot License (PPL) – 10 weeks
  • Instrument Flight Rating (IFR) – 8 weeks
  • Commercial License, Single-Engine and Multi-Engine (CSEL and CMEL) – 12 weeks
  • Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) – 8 weeks

To participate in the P3 program, students should be at least 18 years old, fluent and literate in English, and have a high school diploma or GED. They need to provide two character references – one professional and one personal – and present a clean MVR, FAA record, and criminal background check. Students will also need to pass a behavioral/cognitive evaluation and be able to demonstrate a First-Class FAA Medical Certificate. The program is full-time and accelerated, so participants will also need appropriate availability and personality characteristics.

One of the primary aspects of the P3 Program is ensuring that finances don’t stand in the way of career success. Contact our team for assistance working your way through the various options, including student loans, grants, aviation scholarships, savings, and personal loans.
