Military Rotor Transition Program

Military helicopter pilots can expedite their transition to airline pilot through the Military Rotor Transition Program. Paragon Flight offers an exceptional program that is both flexible and effective at helping students pair their existing skills and experience with further training to meet FAA requirements.

Paragon Flight is an FAA-approved flight school in Fort Myers, FL, and a national leader among flight schools. We offer a highly skilled team of instructors, technologically advanced aircraft for training, and superior and effective flight training curriculum.

Military Rotor Transition ProgramThe efforts we’ve made to produce highly qualified pilots are clearly seen in the results. We’ve been recognized by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association repeatedly over the years for the excellence of our flight training program.

Military helicopter pilots are already certified in Instrument Rating and have the requisite flight hours (750 hours) for entering the military rotor transition program. The purpose of this program is to facilitate a smooth transition between current experience and airline pilot requirements. We will help fill in the gaps and aim to provide the remaining hours of experience and training required for the pilot to become ATP certified.

To receive an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification, you’ll need to meet the following criteria:

  • Certified commercial pilot with instrument rating and multi-engine endorsements
  • 250 hours as the Pilot in Command (PIC) of an airplane
  • 50 hours piloting multi-engine land aircraft

Paragon Flight knows that every pilot entering the program will have different existing levels of experience. Whether you have the minimum hours for entering the program or have fixed wing experience under your belt or fall somewhere in between, allow us to meet you where you are. Set up a meeting with our staff to go over your experience, and we will design a customized program to fulfill the requirements of the transition program.

Paragon Flight’s location will also help speed your career transition. With over 350 days of perfect flying weather, Fort Myers is perfect for allowing you to rack up flight time and get the required experience under your belt. Get the broad experiences you need to prove your abilities on your own schedule since you will be able to fly practically anytime.
