FAA authorizes flight schools under Federal Aviation Regulations Parts 141 and 61. While most schools operate under one or the other, Paragon Flight is privileged to be authorized to work under either set of guidance. We can provide the full-time, rigid scheduling of Part 141 courses as well as the flexible one-on-one self-pacing structure of a Part 61 program.

We even provide military and government flight training, including Initial Flight Orientation (IFO) for pre-basic training, Single Engine Recurrent Training (SERT) to improve a crew’s coordination, cooperation, awareness, and safety, Rotary Wing to Fixed Wing Transition Training to help helicopter pilots transition to airline pilot status, and Aircraft Transition and Differences Training to facilitate pilots’ acquisition of skills and systems on new aircraft.

Commercial Pilot Requirements

To become a commercial pilot, you’ll need to meet an array of requirements, but the entire process will begin by earning a Private Pilot License (PPL), which means that you’ll need to be at least 18 years old and able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.

Further requirements include holding a valid 1st or 2nd Class Medical Certificate, complete and log the required ground and flight training for the commercial license like 100 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) and 250 hours of total logged flight time. Candidates should also pass the FAA written exam and checkride, which includes an oral and practical component.

The programs at Paragon Flight are custom-designed for the student. Speak with the Chief Flight Instructor (CFI) to take into consideration your schedule, goals, existing experience, and budget. These factors will allow us to create the best possible plan for you to meet your goals as quickly and affordably as possible.

For the most diligent and determined pilot candidates, we offer the P3 Professional Pilot Program. This program allows pilots to become certified flight instructors from a point of no experience within 38 weeks.
