Private Flight LessonsThe flight lessons that we offer at Paragon Flight are intended for student pilots interested in flying for personal, professional, or military purposes. We’re FAA-authorized through both FAR Parts 61 and 141 and have been repeatedly honored by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the nation’s leading aviation advocacy group, for the quality of our instructors and instruction. With dual authorizations by the FAA, we can provide one-on-one, flexible flight training as well as full-time, highly structured programs.

Personal Pilot Pursuits

  • Private Pilot License (PPL)
    • Preparation to earn a license for single-engine aircraft operations in visually clear flight conditions
  • Instrument Flight Rating (IFR)
    • Preparation to earn a rating for flight in instrument flight conditions when visual flight is impossible
    • Teaches pilots to use avionics and other tools for navigation and radio systems for communication
    • Essential skills for any pilot who plans to progress beyond a daytime flier
  • Multi-Engine License (MEL)
    • Preparation to earn a license for a pilot to operate multi-engine aircraft
  • Cirrus Certified Aircraft Training 
    • Preparation for pilots who are unfamiliar with Cirrus SR aircraft to operate them
  • Glass Cockpit Training
    • Preparation for pilots who are unfamiliar with the industry standard in avionics technology, Garmin Glass Cockpit systems.

Commercial Pilot Pursuits

  • Commercial Single-Engine License (CSEL)
    • Preparation for pilots to earn a license that allows them to fly single-engine aircraft for compensation
    • Mandated for any acceptance of money in exchange for flight services
  • Commercial Multi-Engine License (CMEL)
    • Preparation for pilots to earn a license that allows them to fly multi-engine aircraft for compensation
    • Mandated for any acceptance of money in exchange for flight services
  • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) 
    • Preparation for pilots to earn certification that permits them to apply with an airline
    • Applying with an airline also requires 1,500 hours of documented flight time
  • Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
    • Preparation for commercial pilots to train student pilots in single-engine flight
    • Required to also have a single-engine license
  • Certified Flight Instructor, Instrument (CFII)
    • Preparation for commercial pilots to train student pilots in instrument flight
    • Required to also have an instrument rating
  • Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI)
    • Preparation for commercial pilots to train student pilots in multi-engine flight
    • Required to also have a multi-engine license

Military or Government Pilot Pursuits

  • Initial Flight Orientation (IFO)
    • Preparation for flight training conducted during basic training
  • Single Engine Recurrent Training (SERT)
    • Scenario-based training
    • Designed to improve a crew’s ability to approach the following mission aspects:
      • Coordination
      • Cooperation
      • Awareness
      • Safety
  • Rotary Wing to Fixed Wing Transition Training
    • Preparation for helicopter pilots with commercial licensing to become airline pilots
  • Aircraft Transition and Differences Training
    • Preparation to fly new aircraft skillfully and confidently.
