Commercial Airline Pilot School

Before you can become an airline pilot, you will need to earn a commercial license at a reputable flight school, like Paragon Flight. We offer the requisite flight instruction, on an individual basis, through a variety of programs.

Operating out of Fort Myers, Florida, Paragon Flight provides beauty and quality. We provide a high-quality FAA-approved FAR Part 141 and 61 flight school, so we’re able to accommodate students with tight schedules as well as those who are obligated to attend full-time flight training including veterans with GI benefits, college students with student loan financing, and international students with an M-1 student visa.

Why Become a Commercial Pilot

To be paid for carrying cargo or passengers, pilots must have a Commercial Pilot Certificate. For most commercial pilots, careers begin as crop dusters, banner flyers, sightseeing pilots, etc. However, with an additional Airline Pilot Transport Certificate and 1,500 hours logged, pilots can contemplate working as an Airline Captain.

We at Paragon Flight allow our pilots to earn the commercial license in either a single-engine or double-engine aircraft. If your plan is to become an airline captain, it only makes sense to begin with a multi-engine rating.

An instrument rating is another endorsement you will need to become an employed pilot. Our program is quite efficient, allowing you to accomplish this goal quickly. You can become a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) as an optional program during this time.

Time Parameters

For a pilot certificate, training will take differing amounts of time depending on your goals, but you will need to log specified amounts of time in the air. For instance, a private pilot license requires 35-40 hours, a commercial pilot will need 120-250 hours, and an airline transport pilot will need to log 1,500 hours. Bear in mind that these figures do not include ground training or simulated practice.

Training Aircraft

The aircraft that you have available for your training is quite important. Some lower budget flight schools might actually send you elsewhere to get your practical time in the air. AT Paragon Flight, you can rest assured that we have the appropriate aircraft and that they’re new, well-kept, and Technically Advanced with Glass Cockpit Technology.

Our fleet includes:

  • Cessna 172S Skyhawk
  • Piper PA-44 Seminole
  • Cessna T182T Skylane
