Establish Your Goals as a Pilot
Becoming a professional pilot requires the same commercial pilot license, but the range of jobs in the industry is pretty astounding. You may choose to fly as a captain or co-captain for a major or regional airline; the dedicated pilot for a corporation or individual; a cargo pilot for a package delivery company; an air taxi pilot; a Certified Flight Instructor; a pilot of a medical air ambulance; a pilot for the government, law enforcement, or the military; a firefighting pilot; a crop duster; banner tower; media or patrol pilot; stunt pilot; freelance pilot; test pilot; or even an astronaut. These goals will determine which credentials and experiences you’ll need.
Paragon Flight provides a full range of programs, making it possible for our pilot candidates to earn:
- Private Pilot License (PPL)
- Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
- Multi-Engine Rating
- Instrument Rating
- Certified Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII)
The Role Location Plays
You might imagine that the location of the flight school only matters in that you don’t have to travel far to attend. Actually, the required travel to the school is inconsequential. The location here in Southwest Florida facilitates frequent flight time. In addition to the weather being flight perfect 350 days of the year, Paragon Flight also operates out of Page Field, the hub of general and business aviation in the area. We’re also near several practice fields and accommodations that make staying here for training affordable and comfortable.
The Reputation of the School
In the world of aviation enthusiasts, a flight school’s reputation will usually precede it. You can generally find tons of information in client reviews and related message boards, and the time-honored tradition of references is always useful. Not only do we at Paragon Flight have a stellar reputation, but we can also demonstrate our excellence through our repeated recognition by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the foremost aviation advocacy group in the nation.
FAA-Authorized Programs
The FAA governs the activities of flight schools through Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Parts 61 and 141. Part 61 flight schools are able to provide modifications to scheduling and curriculum while Part 141 schools are very strict and cater to the full-time student. Paragon Flight has both approvals from the FAA, so we’re able to create bespoke flight plans for our student-pilots.
