Expectations of Professional Pilots
Earning a paycheck as a pilot requires a few things. First, you’ll need to be a proficient pilot, but you must also have a commercial license if you want to operate legally! The FAA mandates a commercial license for any flight services for compensation. With a commercial license comes a world of opportunities, and you may venture out into the agricultural, transportation, shipping, governmental, medical, or tourism sectors. Depending on the role you prefer, you’ll also need to continue your aviation training and accrue logged flight time. This aspect makes working as a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) ideal for newly licensed commercial pilots who need to log flight time because the hours spent training count!
Beyond flying a plane, commercial pilots can anticipate pre-flight procedures and safety checks, communication demands, planning demands, and post-flight reports. Learning these skills is essential for a commercial pilot.
The Professional Pilot Program at Paragon Flight is a terrific opportunity for pilots who want to reach their professional goals faster. Within 38 weeks, participants can develop the skills needed to earn all of the following credentials:
- Private Pilot License (PPL)
- Instrument Flight Rating (IFR)
- Commercial Single-Engine and Multi-Engine License (CSEL and CMEL)

Essentially, the P3 Program will help you go from dreams to achievement in fewer than 10 months!
