Flying Lessons Age Limit

With no age limit for flying lessons, it’s never too early to consider pursuing your dreams with Paragon Flight. We provide an environment and structure to ensure safety and success for those pursuing aviation training, regardless of age.

Flying Lessons Age LimitWhile flight lessons are available at any age, you can only complete training once you’ve reached specific age requirements. For instance, to get a student certification and have the ability to fly solo, you have to be 16, and to complete initial training for a Private Pilot License (PPL), you’ll need to be 17. For commercial licensing, the age requirement is 18. Whether or not you decide to begin flight training early is up to you and your family.

The advantages of starting flight training early are the same as those of any focused experience related to an interest. Nurturing a passion is a good thing, but flight training can be expensive. Some say that the expense involved makes starting training too early to be a waste.

Training at Paragon Flight

No matter when you choose to begin flight training, Paragon Flight should be the school of choice. Our facilities, staff, curriculum, aircraft, and approach create an ideal training environment for any student pilot.

Paragon Flight has three homes. Our primary location is Page Field (FMY) in Fort Myers, FL, and we have two secondary locations—one in Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) in Punta Gorda, FL, and the other in LaGrange-Callaway Airport (LGC) in LaGrange, GA. Our locations have modern facilities and boast tower-controlled runways, minimal air congestion, and plenty of practice airfields for our student’s benefit.

Even the elements we don’t control work in our favor at our locations. The weather boasts over 300 days of clear weather conditions for safe takeoff and landing, and our locations are proximal to metropolitan areas, with various accommodations available for all budgets and tastes.

Paragon Flight’s staff has a wide range of backgrounds, but the common element among them is that they’re all Certified Flight Instructors (CFIs). Whether you’re interested in single-engine, instrument, or multi-engine training, we will have the right flight instructor to complement your learning style, goals, and personality.

The aircraft you’ll be flying as you prepare for your future aviation endeavors will also be the ideal craft for training. The Piper PA28 “Pilot” is the standard for single-engine flight training since it operates safely and predictably; the PA-44 Seminole allows us to help pilots learn to fly twin-engine aircraft suitably; and we offer the Cirrus SR20 of high-performance endorsements, primary instruction, and transition and differences training. To save money and practice more, utilize the ultra-realistic Glass Cockpit-equipped ALSIM AL172 Simulator.

Our entire fleet is conducive to transferring skills from one cockpit to another. Each aircraft features Glass Cockpit tech and advanced avionics.

Even our curriculum shortens the time required for sufficient training. The Jeppesen curriculum is proven to produce safe, experienced pilots 30% faster than the national average for flight training.
