The Professional Pilot Program (P3)
The Professional Pilot Program prioritizes quality, character, and financial assistance in order to help ambitious pilots reach their goals faster and cheaper.
In order to participate, candidates must be 18 years old, speak and write English well, and have full-time availability and be able to attend 4-5 flight lessons and 10-20 hours of ground training each week. We prefer at least some college experience and absolutely require either a high school diploma or GED equivalency certificate. They’ll also need to provide a personal and a professional character reference and demonstrate that they have a clean driving record, criminal background, and FAA record.
The P3 Program consists of 38 weeks. Phase One is 10 weeks long, and participants qualify for a Private Pilot License (PPL). Next, student-pilots spend 8 weeks learning to use communication and navigation equipment in an aircraft during the second phase of the program. The third phase focuses on qualifying as a commercial pilot of either a single-engine or twin-engine aircraft. Finally, the final phase of the course allows commercial pilots to develop the skills required to share their craft.
By working as a flight instructor, new pilots can practice, log flight hours for future goals, and earn a living. Bear in mind that aspiring airline pilots will need to earn their Airline Transport Pilot Certification and log 1,500 flight hours.
