The Professional Pilot Program – P3

One of the newest programs we at Paragon Flight have created is the Professional Pilot Program (P3). This program consists of 38 weeks of accelerated training for students with drive, full-time availability, and airline aspirations. Never has there been such a time for entering the airline sector, with an incredible demand for qualified pilots and salaries to match.

We focus our efforts on providing quality training instead of racking up unnecessary hours, helping potential participants find appropriate financing, and developing the professional leadership characteristics expected of airline personnel.

Timeline for P3

The schedule of P3 Participation is packed with essential information and skills, so participants must be prepared to work hard throughout the process.

The first Phase is ten weeks long and culminates with the acquisition of the Private Pilot License (PPL). This first phase is also the most important because it creates the foundation for all future training and begins the development of good habits. Existing private pilots can skip this phase and begin the process with the second phase.

Next, pilots will add Instrument Flight Ratings (IFRs) to their Private Pilot Licenses (PPLs). This phase is eight weeks long and concentrates on teaching the skills needed to fly in instrument flight conditions when visibility is a problem due to altitude, time of day, or weather conditions. Radio systems, navigation systems, and tools are mastered during this portion of the P3 Program.

Accepting money for flight services requires a commercial license. Airline pilots will need a multi-engine license as well. The third phase of the P3 Program teaches pilots what they need to know to earn their Commercial Single-Engine License and Commercial Multi-Engine License (CSEL/CMEL).

The last phase of the P3 Program helps new commercial pilots break into the industry while accumulating flight hours. Become a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) over the course of this eight-week phase to make a living by sharing your skills with others. Paragon Flight offers special consideration for flight instructor applicants who have completed this program. Keep in mind that airline applicants must have 1,500 flight hours in the books, and flight instructors count the hours in the sky while providing instruction.

Participation Requirements:

Thinking about applying to participate in the P3 Program? It is selective since it is accelerated in speed and content. We require that students be at least 18 years old, high school graduates or GED recipients (college experience preferred), and fluent in spoken and written English. Additional requirements include a professional and a personal character reference, a clean driving and FAA record, a clean background check, a passed behavioral/cognitive evaluation, a First-Class Medical Certificate from the FAA, and full-time availability. The course includes 4-5 flight lessons and up to 20 hours of ground training every week, and students face failure if they miss training.
